The Hot List: A Designer Short Film, Eyeshadow, Chic Entrepreneur

This week on the Hot List, we have three awesome items we are loving this week.

Dry, A Short Fashion Narrative

Dry, is a short film from Alisha Trimble featuring her Women Wear Spring/Summer 2012 collection. The film, created by Alisha Trimble and Seth Fragomen, was shot on location in Sag Harbor. The film stars models Chelsea Freeborn, Ashley Vasicek, and Bjorn Gessle. And for us heel lovers, the shoes were custom designed by Milk and Honey.

Alisha Trimble is a women’s wear designer, whose clothing has been seen on Paz De La Huerta, Jade Cole, and Taylor Momsen. Her self-named label, has been showing at Mercedes Benz fashion week since 2005 and has been featured in numerous magazines. When not designing her next collection, Alisha, is called upon for styling, creative directing print and media, as well as producing short films.

“My job is to be creative and I do love what I do. What comes with years of practice is a facility to use media society as a signifier for contemporary society, as women and creative individuals.”

The Chic Entrepreneur: Put Your Business in Higher Heels

As you may have realized form previous Hot Lists, I love to read. I particularly like to read books that are on the topics of business, finances, and blogging. SO, when I saw the book The Chic Entrepreneur: Put Your Business in Higher Heels. I was immediately intrigued.

“Learn how to take your business from flats to stilettos in this intelligently written, highly practical, and entertaining read.” A book about business and references to high heels. Yes!! I knew I had a good book to look forward to reading before bed.

Chapter 1: Payless or Nordstrom: What’s Your Value?
Chapter 2: Walmart or Wholefoods: Pick Your Niche

Elizabeth Gordon has given readers the concepts (and examples) of running a successful business in easy to understand language and format. I highly recommend this book to any women thinking of starting a business, just started a business or with years in business.

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24HR Cream Gel Eyeshadows

I do love eye shadow (almost as much as high heels). I have been known to wear very dramatic colors, many would save for an evening out, in the middle of the day. I can’t help it some days, I just want to play dress up. So, when I got the email about Maybelline’s latest eye shadows (and the word Tattoo didn’t hurt), I had to try them.

I love them. Available in ten colors:Too Cool, Fierce and Tangy, Audacious Asphalt, Painted Purple, Bad to the Bronze, Pomegranate Punk, Tough as Taupe, Tenacious Teal, Bold Gold, and Edgy Emerald.

Since, I am not a beauty blogger, I did not take pictures of my eyes however, I did find a great video on You Tube from popular beauty blogger (and vlogger), Leina.

I haven’t tried the tattoo gel yet but I’m looking forward to it. The colors are a little too wild for me but I do want to try the white one.
