The premiere of “The Smurfs” took place at the Ziegfeld Theater on July 24, 2011 in New York City.

Singer Katy Perry, who has stated she plans on venturing into films, plays the voice of Smurfette (the only female smurf at least in the cartoon).

Christian Louboutin was inspired by classic painting for his 2011 Autumn/winter campaign. Louboutin, along with photographer, Peter Lippmann recreated artwork using live models (Trissan Polas, Sterenn Nogues, Karom Kelly Lippmann, Lia Catreux, Francoise de Stael and Karen Assayag).

The theme of the of the 2011 fall/winter campaign is ‘the power of femininity’.

Anne Hathaway and Sarah Jessica Parker both made appearances at premieres (on opposite coasts) on April 10, 2011.

Anne Hathaway attended the premiere of Twentieth Century Fox & Blue Sky Studios’ “RIO” in Hollywood, California. Anne Hathaway plays the voice Jewel, the macaw.

Here is a quick synopsis of the film. “Blu the Spix’s Macaw’s (Jesse Eisenberg) early life is tragic, having fledging from his nest too early and been kidnapped by poachers. Luckily he was adopted by a loving owner, Linda (Leslie Mann) as a little girl. 15 years later Linda owns a bookstore in the snowy landscape of Minnesota and Blu becoming a very nerdy bird. A Brazilian ornithologist, Túlio (Rodrigo Santoro) finds Linda and tells her that Blu is the last male of his species and takes them to Rio de Janeiro so the bird could breed. But Blu does not hit it off with Jewel (Anne Hathaway) and matters get worst when poachers take the birds and chain them together. When their escape Blu and Jewel they try and reunite with Linda whilst avoiding being captured by the poachers and their insane cockatoo Nigel (Jemaine Clement).” via imbd

Actress Blake Lively arrived at a Warner Bros. Pictures presentation to promote her new film, “Green Lantern” at Caesars Palace during CinemaCon, March 31, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Blake Lively plays Carol Ferris who is the vice president of Ferris Aircraft and a long-time love interest of Hal Jordan. Hal Jordan is a test pilot for the United States Air Force who becomes a Green Lantern. He is the first human ever inducted into the Green Lantern Corps.
Blake Lively wore a pair of “Fastissima” suede ankle boots from the fall/winter 2010 collection of Christian Louboutin.

The 5-inch heels retail for around $995.

Singer Christina Aguilera made an appearance at NBC’s press conference for the new Show “The Voice” on March 15, 2011 in Los Angeles, California.

“The Voice” stars Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton as the coaches who will help shape America’s next top singing star. Carson Daly hosts the series, which premieres on April 26th. The grand prize winner of the new competition will receive $100,000 and a record deal with a major label.
