New York Fashion Week Fall 2012 has come and has gone. The common theme across many collections has been dark colors and lots of patterns. While, there were a few collections that went for the “WOW! What? Well, I’ll be” factor; overall everything was very much . . . what is the word. . . normal. The same came be said for the shoes. There were no 10-inches of vertigo causing terror and few heels that looked more like art than shoe. With that said, let’s quickly look back some of the footwear collections for Fall 2012. Due to keeping this post short, since it is long enough, I only have commentary for one collection.
L.A.M.B
Altuzzara
Oscar de la Renta
Ralph Lauren
Marc Jacobs

Marc Jacobs is giving a history lesson with his collection. The show, which is entitled: Pimps and Pilgrims, takes us back to the time when the pilgrims discovered the streets of Plymouth. Wait, that wasn’t the theme? Oh! In all honesty, when I saw the blinged out pilgrim shoes and over-sized furry hats, I could only think about how fly I will look at Thanksgiving dinner. Can you dig it, baby?
Cynthia Rowley
Jill Stewart
Rodarte
Christian Siriano
DKNY
Vera Wang
Derek Lam

Rodarte and Jill Stewart were tied for the best in my opinion. With LAMB and Altuzzara following very close behind. I liked the Marc Jacobs collection the least. Sorry, I’m not feeling the pilgrim shoes.
Altuzarra was my favorite! The entire collection was cohesive, I loved everything about it. Jil Sander had some great designs too. Ralph Lauren rounds out my top picks; that golden heel!!

Great collection of shoes here. I really like the top 2 Christian Siriano shoes. They have a really hot pattern, kind of like a snakeskin… Nice looking shoes!
