Walk in My Shoes Foundation

Walk in My Shoes Foundation was founded by Helen Castille Fusilier. In June, 2004 Helen was diagnosed with Stage 1 Insitu Ductal Carcinoma, (Breast Cancer). Following Lumpectomy surgery, Helen received several weeks of radiation therapy and was later declared to be cancer-free. Helen decided she wanted to do “something” for patients who were now in her shoes. In 2010, Walk in My Shoes Foundation was created.

The Walk in my Shoes Foundation was created to assist patients who find themselves battling cancer and facing financial difficulty in meeting daily necessities. The organization’s goal is to help alleviate some of the stress in patient’s lives by providing financial support.

The organization solicits new and gently worn shoes and resells them. The funds are then used to provide patients’s assistance with paying rent/mortgage, utility bills, buying medication, or purchasing gas cards to get to and from treatment.

1. Monetary Donations can be given via paypal or through the mail.
