Ardre A. Orie was raised in a single parent home and from an early age, she realized that mentors are priceless for young girls, like herself, growing up without a father in her life. While still in college, Ardre Orie, founded The Pink Wish Foundation. The initial mission of the organization focused on helping young girls, who lacked relationships with their fathers, as well as, offer support to their single mothers. As time has passed, Orie, who serves as Executive Director, has continued to develop and expand her original concept into a program that uses creative concepts to engage young ladies and that combines these concepts with strong messages of self-esteem, hope and empowerment to provide powerful impact in the lives of girls. and their mothers. The Foundation now serves over 400 children per year, in 5 cities, with a staff of 50 volunteers and 10 board members.

The women of that country have been instrumental in acquiring peace…Their president Ellen Sirleaf and the activist Leymah Gbowee won the 2011 Nobel Peasce Prize. I challenge any organization to join ito join me in working to empower these women to be educated, learn trades, work in agriculture, so they no longer feel they must us their bodies as a sales commodity for survival.
