“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”(Heb.11:1).
I love reading about women who have decided to take a chance, go against all the odds, and venture into business for themselves. This admiration also applies to women who have decided to pursue their passion for singing, acting, and even stand-up comedy after spending years working in a corporate career. Actually, I love reading the stories of anyone (male, female, young, and mature) who has decided to do so.
I enjoy speaking with people who are on the paths to their dreams and despite the bumps and dips in the road continue to strive on their journeys. I enjoy learning from their experiences, both good and awful; I appreciate the time they took to share their knowledge with me.
What is the common factor, that each of these people share that had them abandon the safe route and step out onto a passage unknown?
Faith
It is faith that dreams do come true. It is faith that one deserves to be happy doing what they love. It is faith that in the end, one will succeed and all the worries, heartaches, and, late nights will have served as nothing more than educational moments.
Recently, I too have taken a step in faith. I have decided to venture into starting my own business (which of course revolves around the Queen in Heels brand). It has been an exhilarating and yet, anxiety filled decision (especially, when one is responsible for the well-being of others).
There are moments when doubt tries to sprinkle little seeds into my mind. Fear, as we all know, is the inhibitor of faith and the destroyer of dreams. So, how do I stamp out doubt before fear takes over?
Prayer/Meditation:
Every day I make time to gather my thoughts, calm my anxieties, and reflect on my triumphs. If I did not take these quiet moments, I would have a crowded overwhelmed mind.
Study/Research:
All I can say is keep on learning. Never believe that you know enough. There is always something new to learn.
Association:
The wrong people will fill your head with disheartening thoughts. By building a networking group of like-minded individuals, I am inspired and encouraged to continue down my own path.
What are your ways to stamp out “the great destroyer” FEAR and walk in FAITH?

I combat fear by reading one of my favorite reads: Matthew 6:25-34! The way that I see it, if God but the desire in our hearts, he will see to it that it’s fulfilled. We may doubt ourselves, but he’s always watching and giving us strength.
I meditate on this book & that seems to calm me. I pray that you continue to step out on faith & know that you are protected. I am guessing that you made this sculpture? Either way it’s beautiful! I love the freedom in her walk (in heels)!

Tamika . . . Thank you so much for your beautiful comment. I must admit I do not read the Bible like I should but, I will start and with your favorite read.
No, I didn’t make the sculpture and I don’t know who did.
Congrats on stepping out on faith! I too have to remind myself daily that the desire to start my own business was not my own. It definitely wasn’t on my radar two years ago so that alone is evidence that I’m moving in the right direction. Pray for strength and patience.
Faith is a base of miracles. If you want to win, but dont believe it – you will lose.
