Last Saturday there was not a link love post. Why? Because we had decided to visit the Alexander McQueen ‘Savage Beauty’ exhibit at the The Metropolitan Museum of Art. I will just say, that it is one of the most amazing exhibits I have seen. If you can . . . go see it. If you can’t there in person, there is a video of the exhibit here. What the video doesn’t show is that when you enter into the exhibit it is dimly lit and there is music, voices, and sounds all around you. And even for those of us, who did not personally know Alexander McQueen however, have followed his career, loved his work, and know the tragic circumstances of his death, it is an emotional experience.

It is an exhibit you will find yourself spending hours in. Anyone, who has ever visited the The Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC knows that they have a strict policy . . . no photography. I adhered to the policy . . okay okay. . I may have used my cellphone to snap 1 er 2 pictures but, I couldn’t control myself.
Afterwards, I made sure to purchase a few souvenirs for myself and others. I kept the ‘Savage Beauty’ book and armadillo heel replica for myself.

The cloth book has a hologram cover of the face of Alexander McQueen that transforms into a skull. Hopefully, I will visit the exhibit one more time before it closes on August 7.

Thank you the video link to the exhibit – did not know there was one and I probably can’t get there-so much appreciated. All of his work was so dramatic and impressive – it creates an emotional impact.
