Jessica Alba made an appearance on David Letterman to promote the movie, Machete. She came to the Ed Sullivan Theatre wearing a summer dress and a pair of DOBI velvet blue heels from Opening Ceremony.
As much as I like the shoes. I don’t like them at all with this dress. They are just too heavy. Another pet peeve of mine: velvet in the summertime. Just looking at it makes me hot.

Now I’ll agree with you that wearing velvet in the summer is just too much. However, I do like the look overall. If the shoes were made of a different material I think that the shoes wouldn’t look so heavy.
I agree . . . there’s a disconnect with the softness of the dress and the heaviness of the shoes. It’s definitely too chunky for this outfit. But it seems celebrities are into “making statements” even if their outfit isn’t stating anything positive.
