Guy Bourdin is regarded as one of the greatest fashion and advertising photographers of the 20th century.

by Guy Bourdin
Bourdin, who was born in Paris 1928, worked for magazines Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar. He shot advertising campaigns for fashion designers: Chanel, Versace, and Charles Jourdan to name a few.

Guy Bourdin’s photographs have been described as seductive, provocative, disturbing, and radical. His photographs have the recurring themes of death, violence, desire, surrealism, and sex. He took these themes and associated them with a fashion item. Even with, the dark, gloomy, sometimes perverse subject matter his images are glamorous and fascinating. His photography is delightful, attractive, and hypnotizing.
